The fragrant mushroom

The Shiitake is a mushroom with a particularly long tradition. In Asia, people also refer to this medicinal mushroom as the “King of Mushrooms.” Its name comes from a tree, as Shiitake translated from Japanese means “Pasania tree mushroom.” In China, however, it is called Shiang Gu, which means “fragrant mushroom.”

Delicacy
Shiitake is widely used in Asian cuisine and nowadays also in international cooking. It is especially valued as a particularly delicate medicinal mushroom. Its savory aroma is highly appreciated by chefs. For vegetarians, it is also a welcome alternative to meat.

Experience in cultivation
MycoVital has many years of experience in cultivating organic Shiitake. We are among the first companies to cultivate this mushroom outside its traditional growing regions. Our extensive knowledge is especially valuable here, as Shiitake is an extremely sensitive mushroom. Its cultivation requires a great deal of care and sensitivity. What makes our organic Shiitake cultivation special is that we cultivate this medicinal mushroom exclusively for use in capsules. This allows us to optimally adjust the harvest time.
