For a long time, this medicinal mushroom was known only to specialists. Today, Maitake is just as well established as the much more popular Reishi. This is due to its many valuable components. The scientific name of this medicinal mushroom is Grifola frondosa. In German-speaking regions, it is also known as “Klapperschwamm” (rattling polypore). Less commonly, it is referred to as “Laubporling” or “spatulate polypore.” It belongs to the group of wood-dwelling mushrooms and is cultivated by us in Limeshain exclusively on high-quality organic wood substrate.
