Product Description: Maitake Capsules with 100% Whole Mushroom Powder
The Maitake is a medicinal mushroom that has been valued for centuries in Japan and China.
A True Delicacy
The Maitake is a medicinal mushroom that has been valued for centuries in Japan and China. Its German name is “Klapperschwamm,” which certainly refers to its growth habit. It is also known as Grifola frondosa, Laubporling, and Spatelhütiger Porling. In Asia, Maitake has always been considered a true delicacy. The vital mushroom was first mentioned in writing in an 11th-century Japanese fable. The term “Maitake” translates to “Dancing Mushroom.” According to legend, nuns got lost in a forest and discovered Maitake there as a food source, close to starvation. After consuming the mushroom, the nuns, overjoyed by this fortunate discovery, are said to have danced exuberantly with lumberjacks who had joined them.
Cultivation Requires a Lot of Experience
The Maitake, which belongs to the family of Giant Polypore relatives, has beautiful, brown to shiny grayish fruiting bodies. The fruiting bodies, growing out like a bouquet, are soft and have a fleshy consistency. For many connoisseurs, Maitake is the most flavorful mushroom among all edible mushrooms. The cultivation of this mushroom is extremely difficult. Only through decades of experience in this field and continuous improvement measures are we able to cultivate this mushroom in sufficient quantities. The Maitake also grows on a specially formulated organic wood substrate. The cultivation process requires constant monitoring and quick reactions. Therefore, this mushroom is cultivated only by our most experienced employees.
