The Coprinus mushroom has a long history. In Germany, it is also known as the asparagus mushroom, porcelain ink cap, or shaggy ink cap. It belongs to the family of mushrooms related to the common mushroom. Coprinus can be found in forests and meadows throughout Europe. The young mushrooms are particularly popular due to their delicate texture and mild, excellent aroma.
A true all-rounder:
Due to its distinctive shape and brilliant white color, the Coprinus mushroom is easily distinguishable from other mushrooms and is therefore often collected by hikers and hunters. The Coprinus has a very delicate texture and a very mild aroma.
Harvesting even several times a day:
This mushroom, however, also possesses a unique „self-destruction mechanism.“ Therefore, fresh Coprinus should be eaten within one day of harvesting. Older specimens are no longer edible, as they decompose into an inky liquid. This is also the origin of its German name, „Schopftintling“ (shaggy ink cap). We cultivate our Coprinus on a specially produced organic straw substrate. It is crucial to create ideal conditions for this delicate mushroom during its several-week colonization phase. We ensure this with state-of-the-art growing rooms, custom-designed to meet the needs of our operation. Because this mushroom literally „shoots up“ from the ground, it is sometimes necessary to harvest and process several times a day. A particular characteristic of Coprinus cultivation is its need for relatively cool temperatures. To operate sustainably and energy-efficiently, we cultivate it only during the winter months. This aligns with the mushroom’s natural requirements and reduces the otherwise high energy consumption of the growing rooms.

Shaggy ink cap (Coprinus comatus) powder* (from controlled organic cultivation),
hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) capsules
Production:
The cultivation and processing of the mushroom powder capsules takes place entirely and exclusively at our facility in Limeshain, Germany. The mature, freshly harvested mushrooms are dried immediately after harvesting using our special, gentle drying process, then gently ground into powder using a water-cooled mill and filled into HPMC capsules. No intermediate storage (e.g., in a cold storage facility) occurs. This immediate, rapid, and gentle processing ensures that all important nutrients are preserved and the mushroom retains its natural, beneficial properties for human nutrition. Recommended intake:
Take 1 capsule of Coprinus organic medicinal mushroom powder 3 times daily with meals and plenty of fluids.
