THE HISTORY OF MUSHROOMS
Mushrooms have always served humans as a source of food. Even in the Stone Age, people knew about the value of mushrooms as food. And even then, they recognized that mushrooms could be preserved by drying. Since mushrooms also contain plenty of protein, they were referred to very early on by the Aborigines, the indigenous people of Australia, as “black man’s bread.”

It is also known that in China and Japan, mushrooms have been highly valued for thousands of years and some of them have even been worshiped. In addition, mushrooms were also used for cultic purposes in ancient times.

OLD KNOWLEDGE REVIVED
At the time of the Migration Period (500 to 800 AD), knowledge of mushrooms was largely lost. It is therefore not surprising that our current historical knowledge of mushrooms had to be painstakingly reconstructed by research. The mycological works of Abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098 to 1179), which were unique for the Middle Ages, are considered groundbreaking. In addition, researchers rely primarily on traditions from regions with shamanic culture.

The largest living organism in the world

Are mushrooms plants or animals?

Well, that’s as difficult to answer as the question of what came first, “the chicken or the egg.” Mushrooms do not contain “chlorophyll.” This is the substance that colors plants green and helps them produce sugar and oxygen from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. Accordingly, mushrooms are not able to photosynthesize and therefore cannot be assigned to the genus of “plants.”

So do they belong to the animals? Mushrooms require organic nutrients formed by other living organisms for their metabolism and are therefore closer to the animal kingdom. However, some genetic characteristics do not match. Mushrooms are therefore special in every respect and cannot be specifically assigned to any species. For us, the cultivation of medicinal mushrooms is a new adventure every day and an exciting journey into a largely unknown world. We are happy to continue taking you with us.

Mushrooms, nature’s cleaning team

Mushrooms have a cleansing effect on their environment

Mushrooms are still a mystery to us. However, it is known that they have a cleansing effect on their environment. The actual mushroom, the mycelium, spreads underground and runs through the soil with its threads. It is thus able to absorb nutrients and pollutants and break them down at the molecular level.

In this way, mushrooms fulfill an important task in nature and create nutrient-rich soil. Due to these properties, we only produce on completely pollutant-free soils and with filtered air under the strictest conditions. With us, you get the purest vital mushrooms without pesticides and plant protection products in order to detoxify your body in the best possible way.
