Why is whole mushroom powder preferable to extracts?

According to a careful estimate, there are more than 1,000 secondary plant compounds in mushrooms. However, science does not yet know even 50 of them in detail. It is also unclear in what form the various ingredients complement or weaken each other.

Error due to isolated consideration
Because science only ever looks at the effects of individual ingredients, the misconception arose that extracts are preferable to whole mushroom powder. This also led to incomprehensible statements that such extracts are 20 times more effective than whole mushroom powder. The only correct statement would be that some substances can be present in a correspondingly higher concentration. In addition, science is not even clear about whether a hot water extract, a cold water extract or an alcoholic extract is the correct extraction variant.

Natural balance and detoxification of the body only with whole mushroom powder

Regardless of such details, it should be noted that of the ingredients contained in whole mushroom powder, only some ingredients are contained in the extract, depending on the extraction variant chosen. All other ingredients are missing from the extracts.

Furthermore, unlike whole mushroom powder, extracts can no longer absorb toxins and excrete them naturally. Another important point against extracts is that extracts are generally not made from the fruiting body, but only from the mycelium. However, the mycelium lacks the ingredients from the lamellae of the fruiting body, i.e. from the generative components of the mushroom. These are of utmost importance, for example, in the Reishi mushroom, as the triterpenes, for example, are only found in the lamellar parts. The extracts completely lack these substances. In summary, whole mushroom powder is far superior to extracts.

The right time is crucial for success

Whole mushroom powder Based on our holistic approach, we attach importance to using all parts of the mushroom. This ensures that no important ingredients are lost. This means that the complex interaction of the individual components of the mushroom is not impaired by human intervention. Only by using the whole mushroom is it guaranteed that thousands of ingredients are preserved as a compound and that the intelligence of nature is fully exploited for our well-being.

Correct drying of fresh mushrooms
The drying method and the time of drying, i.e. the time difference between harvesting and drying, are also important. That is why we only use mushroom powder from mushrooms that have been produced exclusively for use in capsules. There are companies that only dry their goods that cannot be sold on the fresh market before they rot and then process them into powder. Their mushroom powder naturally no longer has the ingredients as that from freshly harvested and immediately processed mushrooms. The drying temperature is also important and must not exceed 35°C. So if you use mushrooms, check how they were produced or where they come from. Remember, it’s about all the ingredients, not individual ones. And they should not have been lost due to being stored for too long after harvesting!
