Product Description: Shiitake Capsules with 100% Mushroom Powder from the Whole Mushroom
The Shiitake has been widely used in Asia for over 3,000 years and is known as the “King of Mushrooms.” It has always been valued as a precious gift from nature.
From Asia to Europe:
Furthermore, the Shiitake has been a traditional delicacy in Japan, Korea, and China for centuries. This is also where its exotic name originated, as “Shii” means “Passania tree” in Japanese and “take” means mushroom. Loosely translated, its name therefore means: “Mushroom that grows on the Passania tree.” Its Chinese name is Shiang Gu, which could be translated as “fragrant mushroom.”
Meanwhile, the Shiitake has found its way into the kitchens of Europe and North America. This tasty mushroom possesses the taste quality “Umami,” which is recognized in modern science as the fifth taste sensation perceptible on the tongue, alongside salty, sweet, bitter, and sour. This flavor is particularly found in protein-rich foods, such as meat, legumes, and also mushrooms.
Cultivation and Processing in Germany:
MycoVital is one of the first European companies to have cultivated this mushroom outside its traditional regions of origin. Therefore, we consider ourselves very fortunate to have played a significant role as pioneers in medicinal mushroom cultivation in establishing this wonderful mushroom in Germany.
Cultivation takes place exclusively at our facility in Limeshain, Hesse, on a special Shiitake wood substrate in accordance with the EC Organic Regulation. It takes a lot of intuition and a great deal of experience to give this sensitive mushroom what it needs for growth and full maturity. Numerous disreputable manufacturers produce for the fresh market and only process unsold surplus into mushroom powder. However, medicinal mushrooms lose 40% of their active ingredients after just two days of storage. That’s why MycoVital cultivates mushrooms specifically for use in mushroom powder capsules.
Ingredients:
Shiitake Powder (from controlled organic cultivation),
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) capsules
Production of our Shiitake Capsules:
The cultivation and processing into mushroom powder capsules take place entirely and exclusively at our facility in Limeshain, Germany. Immediately after harvesting, the ripe, freshly picked mushroom is dried using our special, gentle drying process, gently ground into powder with a water-cooled mill, and filled into HPMC capsules. No intermediate storage (e.g., in a cold storage facility) takes place. This immediate, fast, and gentle processing ensures that all important active ingredients are preserved and the mushroom does not lose its natural, beneficial properties for human nutrition. Traces of millet may be present.
